People are always asking me who’s my all-time favorite guest on A Spoonful Of Paolo. Well the truth is I have so many but the one who stands out from everyone else is my beloved mother, Marilena Presta. My beautiful mother passed away on January, 22 2022 at the age of 65. I never thought when we taped the original episode with my mom back in October of 2013 that I would only have 8 years and 3 months left with her. My mother was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in March of 2021 and during those 10 months my mother was sick, she fought her cancer battle with so much bravery. It was a side of her I have never seen. I miss her deeply because our love for one another was so grand. She was my everything. She was my best friend. She was my protector. I cannot tell you how much this episode means to me. My mother was so excited to be a guest on “A Spoonful Of Paolo”. Right before we taped this episode she went to go get her hair and nails done. I was always in awe of my mom’s beauty. To me, she was the most beautiful and talented woman in the entire world. I think everyone who knew my mom would agree that her cooking was simply the best. All her Italian specialities were not only delicious but her presentation was always spot on. I can’t even tell you how many times she made her homemade pasta and sauce for my dad and us kids. She was such a pro at it that I knew I needed our Spoonful viewers to get a taste of how magical and talented she was. My mom had so much love for her cooking and her family. I am forever grateful to have had my mom on A Spoonful Of Paolo. I will cherish this episode forever and I hope you will too. Her legacy will live on in my family and we will honor her everyday. Mom, I love you and don’t you ever forget that.
