On Tuesday, August 23, 2011, I interviewed television icon Florence Henderson, and it was a dream come true for me. We met her at the Marina Del Rey hotel at 3:30 pm. As I watched her and her manager Kayla get out of Florence’s car, I went up to them, greeted them and introduced Patrick. I couldn’t believe that I was going to interview one of my all time favorite TV moms on our web show. I remembered watching Florence Henderson on OWN’s The Gayle King Show back in January of 2011. Florence gave her email address on air to Gayle and said she always emails her fans back. Well, that same day I sent Florence an email and a few days later she wrote back to me. I couldn’t believe it. Florence Henderson, my hero, wrote back to me! Well, later that year I emailed Florence again asking if she would be a guest on A Spoonful Of Paolo. Let me remind you that we hadn’t even launched our web show yet, and I was trying so hard to book celebrities for our first season. Well, while my husband and I were at Target in West Hollywood, CA, Florence Henderson emailed me back saying “How nice to hear from you. What would you need me to do and when?” I screamed so loud and went to go find Patrick to share this exciting news with him. I will never forget my interview with Florence. She believed in me and I am forever grateful for her kindness, support and love. Her singing a snippet of my favorite Christmas song “O Come, All Ye Faithful" brought me to tears in this episode. If you are a true Brady fan then you know why that moment would mean so much to me. I love you Florence and may your legacy continue to inspire people to be kind and to dream big.
